How to set up a Post Run method in MassLynx - WKB7927

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Set up a washing routine to run immediately after an acquisition. 

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx 4.1 SCN 916
• SYNAPT G2-Si
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class

PROCEDURE

1. Create the LC method in the current MassLynx project using the Inlet Method Editor.
2. Save the method (best to use a differentiating title like "PostRun" or "Wash").
3. Because there are no settings in the LC method to define the flow path, open the MS method and check the Method Events.
4. If necessary, adjust the Method Events (immediately before the end of the run time) to set the flow path.
5. Save the MS Method.
6. Customize the MassLynx Samplelist table to include the INLET_POSTRUN column.
7. Browse for the post-acquisition LC method in the INLET_POSTRUN column of the Samplelist.
8. Save the Samplelist and test.
