How to test the transform option in MassLynx - WKB77474

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Test and verify that the Transform option is installed correctly in MassLynx.

PROCEDURE

  1. Open the default project in MassLynx.
  2. Open the Spectrum window.
  3. Select File > Open and load the file hfn1.raw. 
  4. Click the cross in the toolbar to show the full spectrum of hfn1.raw.
  5. Verify that the Transform option is enabled in the Process menu.
  6. To test Transform, select Process > Mass Measure and use the default settings.
  7. MassLynx will create a centroid spectrum.
  8. Click on the centroid spectrum.
  9. Select Process > Find Manual.
  10. Click in the peak1 field, and then right-click on centroid peak 1081. The peak1 field should be populated with the correct mass.
  11. Click in the peak 2 field, and then right-click on centroid peak 1165. The peak2 field should be populated with the correct mass.
  12. Click the measure button. You should see mass 15126 reported in the window. Close this window.
  13. Click in the continuum spectrum and select Process > Transform.
  14. You should now see a new spectrum with mass 15127.
  15. If Transform is not enabled, the Transform option was not selected when MassLynx was installed.
