Article number: 6952

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Upgrade the ACQUITY Instrument Control Software (ICS) or ICOPs or Driver Pack (DP) in MassLynx.

ENVIRONMENT

  • MassLynx 4.1
  • ACQUITY

PROCEDURE

  1. Open the inlet method editor and select the Tools drop-down menu.
  2. Select Instrument Configuration and click Configure.
  3. Select None for each instrument type and select Finish and Finish.
  4. Exit MassLynx.
  5. Browse to the Deployment Manager (DM.exe) for the ICS version that is loaded and run it. This can also be done from the Control panel, but it is better to uninstall from the Deployment Manager.
  6. Select Remove and remove all ACQUITY ICS components that are loaded.
  7. Restart the PC.
  8. Log in and go to the Deployment Manager (DM.exe) for the new ICS to be loaded.
  9. Select custom installation.
  10. Select the necessary ACQUITY Modules.
  11. Once the installation is complete, update the firmware with the autoloader if it pops up automatically, and then restart the PC.
  12. Log in and inspect the firmware with the autoloader, which can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Waters Instruments\Firmware\AutoLoader.exe.
  13. Update any of the components not on the current level of firmware. Any component with upgraded firmware will need a power cycle (power-off for a few seconds, then power-on) after the firmware upgrade is complete, so do not go into MassLynx until all firmware upgrades and power cycles are complete.
  14. Once the firmware upgrade is complete, restart the epc and wait five minutes.
  15. Open MassLynx and configure the ACQUITY in the inlet editor.
  16. Open the inlet method editor and select the Tools drop-down menu.
  17. Select Instrument Configuration and click Configure.
  18. Select the corresponding ACQUITY component for each instrument type and select Finish and Finish.
  19. If there is a column manager or UV detector present, repeat steps 15-17.
