MassLynx does not inject sample; "Missing/wrong plate or vial" in IntelliStart logs; system runs analysis and keeps injecting samples - WKB69236

SYMPTOMS

• Vial is accidentally placed in the wrong position in the rack or is not put in at all
• MassLynx cannot inject the sample but runs the analysis, collecting data (empty run, chromatogram with no peaks), running inlet method gradient, and so on
• No message appears
• Error seen in IntelliStart logs: "Missing/wrong plate or vial"

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx
• ACQUITY Sample Manager

CAUSE

The Sample Manager Preference is set to continue after warning.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. If you want the system to stop on error, configure the Sample Manager to stop on vial error change.
2. In the console, click Sample Manager > Configure > Preferences.
3. For "When a vial is missing:" select "Injection will fail on error".
