Problem with MassLynx 4.2 SCN 982 MetaboLynx dealkylation tool in Windows 10 - WKB66429

SYMPTOMS

• During MetaboLynx dealkylation processing, the .mol file is not located
• The internet browser window that contains the dealkylation results never opens
• After a delay (up to several minutes), MetaboLynx says "cannot read .mol file" before continuing through the processing without the additional dealkylation fragments
• Opening the raw data file spectrum and running MassFragment from the Tools drop-down menu does allow the dealkylation tool to run from MassFragment.

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx 4.2 SCN 982
• Windows 10

CAUSE

The link between MetaboLynx and the dealkylation/biotransformation tool doesn't work as it should in Windows 10.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Update to MassLynx 4.2 SCN1007.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The only workaround in MassLynx 4.2 SCN 982 is to use the dealkylation tool from the MassLynx Spectrum window using the Tools > MassFragment > dealkylation tool options.

The other workaround is to revert the operating system to Windows 7 and reinstall SCN 982, but that is not viable in most cases because Windows 7 support from Microsoft ends.
