Calibration curve (.cdb) file is not applied to response in TargetLynx processing, resulting in no reported concentation values - WKB56408

Article number: 56408

SYMPTOMS

  • No concentration values reported in TargetLynx results
  • Peak areas are all reported correctly
  • Peak responses are all calculated
  • Calibration curve file is applied during processing
  • Correct calibration file is shown at the top of the Calibration panel in the TargetLynx browser
  • Found: data processed with Calibrate Standard enabled gives correct and complete results
  • Found: reported symptoms are reproduced using a dataset in the Targetlynx.pro project

ENVIRONMENT

  • MassLynx 4.2
  • TargetLynx XS

CAUSE

Corruption in TargetLynx processing

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Close MassLynx, all of its windows, and the TargetLynx Browser.
  2. Go to START > Run and specify REGEDIT in the Run dialog.
  3. In the Registry Editor, expand the folder tree on the left-hand side, and then browse to the following two folders and delete them:
    • HKey_Current_User > Software > Micromass  >> Locate and delete the Targetlynx XS folder
    • HKey_Local_Machine > Software > Wow6432Node > Micromass  >> Locate and delete the Targetlynx folder
  4. Open MassLynx.
  5. Open a sample list in the project for the standard curve samples.
  6. Process the standard curve samples to create a new TargetLynx Dataset (QLD) file for the standard curve.
  7. Save the QLD file with an appropriate name. (You cannot export methods or results until the QLD file has a name.)
  8. Go to File > Export > Calibration. Save the calibration curve information in the Curvedb folder of the project.
  9. Process a set of samples applying the newly created calibration curve file.

Note: The TargetLynx and TargetLynx XS registry key folders will be recreated the first time TargetLynx runs.
