How to set up an IMS Selection Rule in Progenesis Bridge - WKB51618

Article number: 51618

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Apply a selection rule to IMS data in Progenesis Bridge.

ENVIRONMENT

  • SYNAPT G2-Si
  • REIMS
  • Progenesis Bridge
  • Progenesis QI

PROCEDURE

  1. Open the data in DriftScope.
  2. Create a .rul file as described in DriftScope Help files (the text below is taken from "Creating selection rule files" in DriftScope Help).

Create a rule file when you want to include a particular subset of ions in your acquisition. You can thereafter apply the rule file to a mobility method created in the MassLynx MS method editor. In doing so, you can, for example, exclude peaks of a certain charge state.

Requirement: The 2D map must be set to view the drift time and m/z ratio to create a rule file valid for an acquisition. You can create and save rule files for other views, but only for the purpose of bringing them back into DriftScope. To create a rule file:

  • On the 2D map, select the area or areas of interest.
  • Click File > Export Selection rule.
  1. Open Progenesis Bridge.
  2. In the IMS Selection Rule setting of Progenesis Bridge, select the rule file created at step 2.
