No communications to instrument; error "Can't load boot file!!" - WKB51486

SYMPTOMS

• No communications to MS on reboot 

• Can ping EPC

• Hyperterminal log shows that the boot sequence stops at "Can't load boot file!!"

• Attached TCP/IP interface to fei0.
  Attaching network interface lo0... done.
  Loading... User cannot log in.

  Error loading file: errno = 0x212.
  Can't load boot file!!

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx
• MS

CAUSE

A stoppage at this point in the boot sequence is due to the EPC not communicating with the PC.
The firewall is enabled, preventing communication.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Deactivate the firewall or add exceptions for the system.
