Cannot open all functions in MassLynx data files - WKB46637

SYMPTOMS

• The MS Method contains 61 functions
• After acquiring raw data, all 61 functions are present in the data file and listed in the Experiment record, but only the first 22 can be opened in MassLynx
• Functions 23-61 are not listed in the function drop-down list in the Chromatogram Data Browser, so they cannot be opened

ENVIRONMENT

Xevo TQ-S micro; ML 4.2 SCN 977

CAUSE

The compound name used for function 22 ("Benzo(a)pyrene d12+ Benzo(b) et Benzo(k)fluoranthene d12") is too long.
There is a length limit of 55 characters in the MassLynx MS Method Editor. The name attempted has 56 characters.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Rename the compound in function 22.
