How to change the vial numbering from numeric to alphanumeric in MassLynx - WKB3715

OBJECTIVE or GOAL
To change the vial numbering from numeric to alphanumeric using the plate generator, and then apply it to a bed layout in MassLynx.
ENVIRONMENT
- MassLynx 4.1
- ACQUITY UPLC
PROCEDURE
- Open Inlet Method.
- Select ACQUITY Sampler > Plate Generator.
- Click
or select Rack > New Rack to display the appropriate rack.
- Change Referencing to XY.
Note: Sequential Continuous and Sequential Discontinuous are both numeric. - Click Horizontal and Vertical to alpha and numeric as desired.
Note: For A1 numbering, select Horizontal 1 2 3 and Vertical A B C, and clear Horizontal first. - Edit the Rack Name to a unique name.
- Select Rack > Save Current Rack.
- On the Rack Generator confirmation screen, click OK.
- Select Rack > Exit.
Add the new plate to the bed layout.
- Select ACQUITY Sampler > Bed Layout.
- Select the appropriate bed layout, for example, 2 Plate Bed, or to create a new bed layout:
Type the new name in the Bed Layouts field.
Click.
Click OK. - Click Edit Plates on the Layout tab.
- Click the plate shown.
- Select the newly saved plate from the list, and then click OK.
- Click OK to close the ACQUITY Bed Layout window.
To use the new bed layout:
- Select ACQUITY Sampler > Bed Layout.
- Select the newly created rack in the Current Layout Selected field.
- Click OK.
- Go to the Sample list.
- Select Samples > AutoSampler Bed Layout to confirm that the correct bed layout appears.
