MassLynx Shutdown on LC-error only works if Startup has been run to Start the Batch - WKB31769

SYMPTOMS

• When a sample list is running and encounters an LC-error such as 'Missing Vial', the sample list pauses but the batch shutdown method is not triggered, and the solvents will keep flowing indefinitely. This can occur even if the batch shutdown method has been correctly configured by selecting the "Inlet Fatal Error" option.

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx (multiple SCNs including SCN 639, 714, 945, 977).
• Sample List
• Batch Startup and Shutdown methods.

CAUSE

Software bug.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. The workaround is to ensure that a Batch Startup method is run. This fault only occurs if a sample list is run with only a shutdown method configured.
