UniSpray source not automatically recognized on MassLynx Tune page - WKB194669

SYMPTOMS

• UniSpray source fitted, but MassLynx does not recognize it

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx 4.2
• Xevo TQ-S micro
• Xevo TQ-S
• Xevo TQ MS
• UniSpray

CAUSE

Automatic recognition of a UniSpray source is not a MassLynx feature for any instrument, with the exception of Xevo TQ-XS and Xevo TQ Absolute. 

FIX or WORKAROUND

Manually select UniSpray+ or UniSpray- from Tune Page > Ion Mode.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Note: The ESI source is not recognized either when switching back—it must also be selected from the tune page drop-down menu.

With Xevo TQ-XS and Xevo TQ Absolute, a window appears when the source is changed, asking if you want to change the source on the tune page.
