"MassLynx Security is not currently configured to allow you access to this location" warning in MassLynx Security - WKB18315

SYMPTOMS

MassLynx project folders are not accessible to some users in MassLynx Security.  

On trying to open the files that are in a folder, the following error message is displayed:

"MassLynx Security is not currently configured to allow you access to this location."

ENVIRONMENT

MassLynx 4.2 Full Security

CAUSE

MassLynx directory policy is being used to control access to folders.

The MassLynx administrator has setup the policy so that each user group has access to only certain folder locations. These may be either local or on the network.  

This is useful where different user's raw data and files need to be kept in separate folders for some reason.

It is also essential to use directory policy where both regulated and unregulated modes are being used, as unregulated users must not be allowed to open regulated files, and vice versa.

FIX or WORKAROUND

This is expected behavior.
