Sample list pauses with "Waters Generic Instrument COM Server Detector Method Failed to Open Raw Data Files" error - WKB1751

SYMPTOMS

• Sample manager collects sample, moves to the injection port, and then the sample list pauses
• "Waters Generic Instrument COM Server. Detector Method Failed to Open Raw Data Files" error is observed from the inlet editor
• Creating a new project, method, and sample list did not resolve the problem alone

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx 4.1
• 2767 Sample Manager
• ACQUITY UPLC

CAUSE

The sample list had 600 lines with sample and method names containing hyphens.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Create a new sample list.
2. Name all files and samples using only alphanumeric characters and the underscore.
