"Wrong ionization mode" error message in MassLynx when trying to run an MS method for API mode - WKB16857

SYMPTOMS

• Trying to run an assay in API mode
• Error "wrong ionization mode" when samples are queued up
• No error seen when running samples in ESI mode

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx, all versions and SCNs
• All MassLynx-controlled mass spectrometers

CAUSE

Mismatch between the ionization modes set in the MS Method and the Tune page

FIX or WORKAROUND

Change the ionization mode in the Tune page to match the mode required for the MS method set in the sample list.
