OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Subtract a matrix blank from a sample in Masslynx

Go to Tools Shortcut > Strip
Check the Subtract radio button in the Process box on the right.
In the Input field hit the Input button
Hit the File button and browser in the Sample file, hit OK
In the Background section, Hit the Background button
Hit the File button and browse to the file for matrix blank
Check the box for Use All Background and click OK
In the Output section, hit the Output button. Enter the file name for the resulting subtracted file. Hit OK
Hit Process

To view the subtracted file, open the Chromatogram view. Go to File > Open and select the Output file just created.

This process only works for MS data. It will not work for UV data acquired in Masslynx.
