Subtract a matrix blank from a sample in Masslynx

ENVIRONMENT

  • MassLynx

PROCEDURE

  1. Go to Tools Shortcut > Strip
  2. Check the Subtract radio button in the Process box on the right.
  3. In the Input field hit the Input button
  4. Hit the File button and browser in the Sample file, hit OK
  5. In the Background section, Hit the Background button
  6. Hit the File button and browse to the file for matrix blank
  7. Check the box for Use All Background and click OK
  8. In the Output section, hit the Output button. Enter the file name for the resulting subtracted file. Hit OK
  9. Hit Process

To view the subtracted file, open the Chromatogram view. Go to File > Open and select the Output file just created.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This process only works for MS data. It will not work for UV data acquired in Masslynx.
