- Empower Tip of the Week #388
PROCEDURE
Global Projects view allows you to open multiple projects simultaneously so that you can search for data, methods, and results across projects. You can compare Results from different projects using Compare.
Note: You need the View Multiple Projects privilege to follow this tip.
STEP 1
In Configuration Manager, highlight at least two projects, right-click, and select Open (figure 1).
STEP 2
A window like the below image will appear with the selected projects. The Global Projects tree appears on the left displaying the projects you chose and each of the tables will have an additional field, that being the Project Name (figure 2).
STEP 3
If you want to add more projects to the view, click the Projects Available tool in the toolbar (figure 3).
STEP 4
Select an additional project to add to the view and click Activate (figure 4).
STEP 5
The additional project is now added to the view (figure 5).
STEP 6
Switch to Single Project View by clicking the project in the tree (figure 6).
STEP 7
Remove a Project from Global Projects View by right-clicking on the project in the tree and selecting Remove (figure 7).
STEP 8
Use View Filters to search for data, methods, results, and so forth across multiple projects. In this example, I used a View Filter to look for Processing Methods across the selected projects (figure 8).
STEP 9
To compare Results from different projects, go to the Results tab, highlight the Results, right-click, and select Compare (figure 9).
STEP 10
The Compare window opens, and you can click the Overlay tool to overlay the chromatograms. You can click on the Peaks tab in the lower left to view the peak information for the individual Results (figure 10).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
NOTE: It is recommended that you open Global Project View with two projects to start. Selecting too many projects at once may slow down Global Projects View.
