Error: "Project path not accessible" on Empower 3 - WKB9362

SYMPTOMS

• No communication with 3100
• "Project path not accessible" error in 3100 Control Panel
  
  
• MFC application error when creating a new project in the configuration manager
  
  
  

ENVIRONMENT

• Waters 3100 Mass Spectrometer
• Empower 3

CAUSE

Incorrect setting in the Windows "User Account Controls".

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Click the Windows Start Menu and type "UAC" in the Search bar or browse to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Action Center.
2. Click "Change User Account Control settings" from the navigation bar on the left.
3. Set the slider bar at the bottom to "Never notify".
4. After making the appropriate changes, reboot the PC.
