SYMPTOMS

• Acquityconsole.exe and Quickset.exe consume significant (>15-25%) CPU resources per process on Empower Citrix servers

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3
• Citrix servers
• Windows Server 2016
• Windows Server 2012
• Driver Pack 2018 Release 1

CAUSE

The investigation identified a section of code introduced for diagnostic logging as part of the Driver Pack to improve performance in WAN environments. This code makes frequent calls to the operating system to obtain information about currently running processes. These calls appear to have a higher base utilization in Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2016 compared with Windows Server 2008.

This issue is documented as CRI-1733.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Apply Driver Pack 2018 Release 1 Hotfix 1.
