How to create a combined chromatogram out of two chromatograms from separate injections in Empower? - WKB92440
OBJECTIVE or GOAL
Create a combined chromatogram from two chromatograms originating from separate injections (samples) in Empower.
ENVIRONMENT
- Empower 3
PROCEDURE
-
Select the sample set that contains the two injections and right-click to select "alter sample".
-
Add the label "REF", for example, in the "Label" column for one of the two injections.
- E.g., Standard 1 contains Peak 1 in Channel B
- E.g., Standard 2 contains Peak 2 in Channel A
-
Create a derived channel in your method set.
-
In the first channel, select the channel of the first chromatogram you want to combine. In this example, it is channel A from Standard 2 containing Peak 2.
-
In the second channel, select "+" (Operator) 1 (Constant) x the second chromatogram channel you want to combine. In this example, it is channel B from Standard 1 containing Peak 1. Select the "From injection labeled" box and refer to the label of the injection containing the second chromatogram. In this example, we label the injection "REF".
-
Process the sample set with this method set to generate a chromatogram that is the combination of the two chromatograms. In this example, Channel A + Channel B containing Peak 1 and Peak 2. This enables you to perform calculations in one 2D channel with Peak 1 and Peak 2.
