OBJECTIVE or GOAL

• Create and save a different plate type based on the existing plate information with Empower 3.

PROCEDURE

1. Select "Plate Type" from the tree bar on the left side of the Configuration Manager screen.

2. From the list displayed on the right side of the Configuration Manager screen, select a plate that is similar to the plate you want to create, then right-click and select "Properties".

3. In the "Plate" tab of the Plate Type Properties screen, name the plate type in the "Name" field and click "OK".

4. From the list on the right side of the Configuration Manager screen, select the plate with the name entered in step 3, right-click and select "Properties".

5. Select "XY" from the Format drop-down list on the Plate Type Properties screen.

6. Referring to the following image, enter the dimensions of the plate to be used in the "Plate" and "Rows and Columns" tabs of the Plate Type Properties screen, and click OK.
In the example below, ANSI-96-well 350uL (186002643) is used for explanation.
