"Unable to load GC Instrument method in report" message in report method - WKB88361

SYMPTOMS

• Not able to load the instrument method in report publisher
• "Unable to load GC Instrument method in report" error message in report method

ENVIRONMENT

• Agilent Instrument Control Framework v3.2
• Empower 3 Enterprise
• Agilent 7890 GC
• Agilent 6890 GC
• Agilent 6850 GC

CAUSE

GC configuration has Direct, Straight (gas samplers, HS, p&) liner configured and the same is fetched in the instrument preconfiguration utility.

XML markup validation error due to an ampersand (&) symbol in the liner description.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Remove the inlet module from the GC front panel and reconfigure it without liner information.

OR

1. Disable the liner information in the GC front panel via Config > Front/Back Inlet.
2. Reboot the GC and reconfigure the GC in the Agilent preconfiguration utility.
