Use of a shutdown method in Empower for a 2996 PDA does not turn off the lamp - WKB8639

SYMPTOMS

• In the instrument method, programmable events are set properly
• Neither Condition Column nor Equilibrate is executing the shutdown method to turn off the lamp

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3
• 996/2996 Photodiode Array (PDA)

CAUSE

In the General tab of the Instrument Method, the "Enable Events" check box is not selected.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Select the "Enable Events" check box in the Instrument Method for the 996/2996 PDA.
