Error "Fatal error. Empower will exit" when opening run sample in Empower 3 - WKB8531

SYMPTOMS

• The following error occurs when opening run sample from Empower Pro interface: "Fatal error. Empower will exit."
  
• The following error occurs when opening run sample from Empower project: "Failed to start application (Run Samples)"
  
• This appears for only one user with all projects and all chromatographic systems. Copy of Empower preferences does not resolve issue.

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 Enterprise
• Citrix

CAUSE

Windows profile corruption.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Delete the Windows profile of the user impacted by the issue on all Citrix servers.
