Slow processing speed in Empower when processing a sample set containing summarize custom fields function - WKB85206

SYMPTOMS

• A sample set is slow to process when summarizing custom fields
• The slow processing occurs only when processing a sample set containing impurities 
• The project contains more than 20 custom fields, mostly intersample custom calculations
• Slow processing in Citrix and on an Empower workstation

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 

CAUSE

Project has multiple custom fields trying to calculate and summarize at the end of the sample set for multiple peaks.

FIX or WORKAROUND

In this instance, when either removing or modifying custom fields, the processing time decreases from 12 minutes to 2 minutes. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is normal behavior. Longer processing times occur with multiple custom fields and multiple peaks.
