How to mirror a derived channel in Empower - WKB7839

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Mirror a two-dimensional chromatogram.

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower
• Empower 2
• Empower 3

PROCEDURE

1. Open the Method Set used to acquire the data.
2. Ensure that the Instrument Method listed at the top is selected.
3. Go to the top and choose "File - Create New Derived Channel".
4. In the window that opens, click the Channel drop-down menu.
5. Select the appropriate channel.
   1. With two-dimensional chromatogram, select the available channel from the menu.
   2. With three-dimensional chromatogram, select "PDA: Single Wavelength" and specify the target wavelength. 
6. Change the "Constant" value to minus 1 "-1.000000".
7. Click "OK" at the bottom of the window.
8. Enter a name for this channel.
9. Click "OK" at the bottom of the window.
10. The channel is now listed in the table at the center of the Method Set Editor window.
11. Apply the new method set to an injection (not a channel) to see the chromatogram invert or flip.
12. Save All results.
13. Select the original result and the inverted result and open into Review.
14. Select the Plot Overlay to see the two results mirrored.
