Error: "There is an error in xml document 1" when running a 7890B GC - WKB7564

SYMPTOMS

• When run samples is opened, the following message appears "There is an error in xml document 1" and the instrument does not run.

ENVIRONMENT

• 7890B
• Empower 
• Instrument Control Software 2.6
• Firmware B.02.03.2

CAUSE

Incompatible firmware version.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Downgrade to firmware B.02.02
2. Upgrade to firmware B.02.04.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Changing the firmware on the Agilent GC can void the warranty if you make a mess of it.  Better to get an Agilent Engineer to visit to change the firmware.
