Having trouble activating my new Empower upgrade license - getting the error message "Serial number not valid for product indicated" - WKB73703

SYMPTOMS

• Getting error message - Serial number not valid for product indicated.
• Just received latest Service Release or Feature Release for Empower.

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3
• Any platform

CAUSE

Trying to activate the software using the serial number of the update instead of the base serial number of the software. 

The base license to activate Empower 3 is the license that came with the original purchase of Empower 3 or when you upgraded to Empower 3 from a previous version of Empower or Millennium. The service packs and feature releases are serialized, but those serial numbers do not activate the software.  

FIX or WORKAROUND

Find the serial number provided when you first received Empower 3 software.
