Scrolling a report in Report Publisher edit mode causes blank spaces, and report objects appear cut off or missing - WKB70023

SYMPTOMS

• Report objects appear cut off, and blank spaces appear when scrolling though a report in report edit mode
• Before scrolling:

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower (all versions)
• Report Publisher edit mode
• Scrolling (using the mouse) through the report in edit mode
• Scrolling with the cursor keys may show the issue, especially if the keys are held to scroll fast
• Scrolling with the PgUp and PgDn keys does not appear to cause the issue

CAUSE

The cause is unknown, but it may be related to data fetching and redrawing. Scrolling using the mouse may be too fast for the update, data fetch, and redraw. Using the PgUp and PgDn keys to scroll does not show the same behavior.

FIX or WORKAROUND

• Use the PgUp and PgDn keys to navigate up and down the report.
• Do not scroll using the mouse or the cursor keys.
• Switch Zoom scaling. (The report displays correctly until scrolled again with the mouse.)

• Selecting View > Outlines Only) may also help, but the behavior is also noted with this option.

• Preview the report and then close the preview to return to the edit mode.
