Agilent G1888 pre-configuration fails - WKB69499

SYMPTOMS

• Agilent G1888 Pre-Configuration fails when you click "Upload from Instrument"

ENVIRONMENT

• Agilent G1888 Headspace Sampler
• Agilent ICF SL v3.0 and above (until ICF SL 3.5.1)

CAUSE

The Agilent configuration tool is unable to fetch the G1888 Headspace hardware configuration, or create the configuration file within a specified amount of time.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Ensure that the Agilent G1888 headspace communication port 10000 to 10010 is not blocked by the firewall. If the port is unblocked, do the following:

1. If any previous configuration is available in the Agilent Pre-Configuration utility, ensure that it has been removed from the acquisition client node.
2. If any previous Empower system was created with G1888, it is best to delete the system from Empower.
3. Turn OFF the GC, HS, and acquisition client or LAC/E.
4. Turn ON the GC and HS. Note the Vial size, Vial EPC connection, Pressure Units, and Carrier connection values from the Headspace front panel.
5. Turn ON the LAC/E and, in the Agilent Pre-Configuration window, ensure that the values noted from the Headspace front panel match those in Agilent Pre-Configuration under Instrument settings. If not, select from the drop-down list to match the hardware configuration.
6. Click the "Upload from Instrument" button.
