"Waiting for Injection" error with Shimadzu LC-2010 systems - WKB69489

SYMPTOMS

• Empower message center and acquisition logs show the following error messages:
• "Autosampler pretreatment is paused. Analysis is waiting to start until instruments become ready"
• "-5310; Auto sampler pretreatment failed to complete. Analysis stopped."
• "-5311; Instrument Failure LC-2010@4"

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 
• Shimadzu i-Series Driver for Waters Empower Software Version 1.00
• Shimadzu LC Driver for Waters Empower Software Version 3.10 SP6
• Shimadzu LC Driver for Waters Empower Software Version (Nexera/Prominence/LC-2010) Version 4.42

CAUSE

The oven did not stabilize because of fluctuations in room temperature. It took a long time to stabilize because of a malfunction in cooling of the LC-2010 oven. Because the door of the sampler was not closed firmly, vibration opened it during operation.

FIX or WORKAROUND

The Shimadzu LC system should be stabilized before starting a sample set.
