No Match 1 Threshold is generated - WKB65661

Article number: 65661

SYMPTOMS

  • No Match 1 Threshold is calculated

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower

CAUSE

Library and matching spectra were not collected at the same start and end wavelength, sampling rate, and resolution. Problems may be seen when reviewing and comparing data and libraries generated in different Empower versions.

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Compare spectra with the same ideal wavelength parameters used in acquisition (starting wavelength, ending wavelength, sampling rate in spectra per second, and resolution). Ideal comparisons are highly reliable and yield a Match Angle and Match Threshold.
  2. Comparing spectra with the same spectral resolution but with different wavelength ranges (where spectra from regions of interest overlap) can yield a meaningful Match Angle. Note: No Match Threshold is generated.
  3. Comparing spectra with different spectral resolution and different wavelength ranges may yield an erroneous Match Angle. Note: No Match Threshold is generated. You should examine the spectra and use your own judgment to determine if the no Match Threshold condition indicates a problem.
  4. Recreate the library in your current Empower version (using the same acquisition parameters) to determine if that rectifies the absence of a Match Threshold.
