Sample names unexpectedly changed after using Alter Sample - WKB64400

SYMPTOMS

• Sample names changed unexpectedly.
• First eight characters of Sample name removed.

ENVIRONMENT

Empower 3 FR4

CAUSE

Customer copies Custom Fields into a project while Alter Sample is open in the project.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. This problem is consistent with a failure to close and reopen the Empower applications running in a project after modifying the custom fields in that project. This is not a defect in Empower as the user failed to heed the warning to shut down the applications when they modified the custom fields.
