SYMPTOMS

• "Instrument failure" occurs when logging out of Windows operating system
• Acquisition data is not collected

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower Personal workstation

CAUSE

Windows user-launched services, including Empower application services, are shut down when the user exits the operating system.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Do not log out of Windows during an active running sample set on an Empower Personal installation.
