Cannot open Empower projects from a LAC/E32 - WKB5356

SYMPTOMS

• Cannot open project from LAC/E32
• Does not advance beyond the "Loading" splash screen
• Splash screen vanishes and no project opens

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3
• LAC/E32
• Antivirus utility

CAUSE

The antivirus program installed on the LAC/E32 places Procmon.exe and Project.exe in quarantine.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Run Verify Files to see if these two files are missing.
2. Review the antivirus quarantine area.
3. See the missing files outlined in Verify Files in quarantine.
4. Set exclusions for the Empower folder and all subfolders in the antivirus exclusions list.
5. Copy the missing files from a working LAC/E/32 to the problem LAC/E32.
6. Test the opening of a project.
