Empower Lock Channel after Sign Off 2 does not require comments or show an audit trail for locking the channel if it was already locked - WKB51876

SYMPTOMS

• A sample set with a 3D data channel is processed twice, processing a different derived channel each time
• For the first result set, sign off 1 and sign off 2 are performed and the channel is locked after sign off 2
• The user is allowed to enter a comment, and there is an audit trail for the action of locking a channel
• For the second result set, sign off 1 and sign off 2 are performed and the check box is again selected to lock the channel after sign off 2
• The user is not prompted to enter a comment and there is no audit trail for the action of locking a channel

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3

CAUSE

• When performing a sign off 2 for a result, it is the original 3D channel that is locked, not the derived channel.
• Due to the fact that the original 3D channel is locked during sign off 2 for the first result set, the channel is already locked, so there is no lock performed when the second result set is signed off.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Empower is working properly, so there is no need for a fix.
