How to confirm communication with the Empower raw data file server - WKB51201

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Confirm that there is communication between an Empower LAC/E32 or client and the raw data file server.

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 Enterprise

PROCEDURE

1. Log in to Empower from the LAC/E32 or client, and launch Configuration Manager.
2. From the View menu, select Manage Raw Data Files.
3. Select the File Service (raw data server running WatersService) from the drop-down menu and, on the right-hand side, click Test File Service.
4. Select the Raw Data Share and click Test Share.
5. If a "valid" response is returned for both tests, communication between the LAC/32 or client and the file server is established.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

All Empower nodes must be in the same Empower domain. This test checks a ping and properly configured DCOM settings between LAC/E32 or client node and the server raw data share.
