Error "503: Server Unavailable" when launching WDM - WKB4988

SYMPTOMS

• When launching Waters Database Manager on an Empower 3 FR3 server, Internet Explorer opens with message "503: Server Unavailable"

ENVIRONMENT

• Windows Server 2012 R2
• Empower 3 Feature Release 3
• Internet Explorer 11

CAUSE

Ping of server name returns different IP than what's assigned.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Disable the Network Interface Card (NIC) adapter: Microsoft Loopback Adaptor.
2. Disable any additional NICs that are not connected.
