Empower sample set stops and error "run aborted system not ready" appears in message center with 7890GC and 7697A Headspace controlled with ICF 3.0 - WKB47140

SYMPTOMS

• In the middle of a sample set, instrument failure occurs for 7890GC 
• Message center includes the errors "Instrument failure" and "run aborted system not ready"
• Diagnostic log indicates time out error on the vial the sample set stopped on ("timed out waiting for data system ready on vial 2")
• Initial temperature for GC oven is 40 °C, ending temperature is 220 °C 

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 Feature Release 4 Enterprise 
• Agilent Instrument Control Framework Support v.3.0
• Agilent 7890GC
• Agilent 7697A
• Headspace

CAUSE

Unknown. It is possible that the cycle time was not long enough for the GC oven to equilibrate back to temperature. The run time was 25 minutes.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Increased the GC cycle time.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The GC oven time and the run time should match.
