Serial ports not available in Empower Node Properties when using an Avocent hub - WKB4297

SYMPTOMS

  • The eight serial ports are not available for selection in the Empower Node Properties "Serial Ports" tab when you use an Avocent hub

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower
  • Empower 2
  • Empower 3
  • Avocent Hub

CAUSE

Incomplete installation of the Avocent driver software

FIX or WORKAROUND

 

Reinstall the Avocent driver, making sure that the registry entries match those in the picture below.
