PA800plus CE Empower 3 - GPIB-USB communication issue - WKB30503

SYMPTOMS

• No instrument connection; communication issue
• The instrument stays offline in Empower

ENVIRONMENT

• Beckman PA800plus
• Empower 3 FR4 (Workstation)
• National Instruments NI GPIB-USB-HS

CAUSE

National Instruments GPIB-USB-HS+ interface cable does not correspond to the listed driver (3.1.1). 

FIX or WORKAROUND

Install an older version of interface cable NI GPIB-USB-HS (not GPIB-USB-HS+ without the ferrite ring - see attached photo).

Another possible solution: Install new driver corresponding to the interface (requires interface configuration). Contact Beckman for support.
