Buffered Empower data is not recovered for some LAC/E32; error "Unable to create remote file because a security package specific error occurred" - WKB280001

SYMPTOMS

• Data is buffered and will not recover for some LAC/E32
• Test Fileservice and test share report as valid
• Other LAC/E32 nodes upload their data correctly
• DCOM settings confirmed correct
• MSDTC errors in event logs
• Issues connecting to domain controller errors in event logs
• "Unable to create remote file because a security package specific error occurred"

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower
• System runs the WatersService

CAUSE

Authentication issues due to connectivity between the LAC/E32 and the domain controller

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Remove the LAC/E from the domain.
2. Reboot.
3. Join the LAC/E to the domain.
4. Make test injections to the same project that was last acquired into.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Several Windows updates were also pending and were applied when the Empower server was rebooted attempting to resolve this issue.
• The Empower server was also the domain controller.
• Removing and re-adding the LAC/E32 to the domain resolved the issue.
