With Empower 3.8.0 and above with Agilent GC, two Options tabs are shown for new instrument method - WKB270091

SYMPTOMS

• When creating a new instrument method in Empower 3.8.0 or 3.8.1, two Options tabs are shown

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3.8.0/3.8.1
• Agilent ICFSL v3.6/v3.6.1

CAUSE

Empower is apparently sending an additional OIP command, which results in duplicate Options tabs. With Empower 3.8, when we create new/edit method, Empower is calling “setcurrentmethod”. This additional call causes duplicate Options tabs in the method editor.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Duplicate Options tabs appear only when we try to create a new instrument method. Instrument methods created with previous ICF SL or Empower versions do not show this problem. The workaround is save the method and reopen it, so that the duplicate options tab does not show up.

We have CRI-6143 for this issue. The workaround mentioned in ICF Support Layer 3.7.01 RN.
