Agilent G1888 Headspace Sampler does not regain communications status power cycle - WKB26090

SYMPTOMS

• G1888 Headspace Sampler does not regain communications after power cycle
• On the G1888 Headspace front panel, Go to menu > Advanced > Enable RS232 shows "No"

ENVIRONMENT

• Agilent 6890
• G1888 headspace
• Empower 3 Feature Release 2 Enterprise

FIX or WORKAROUND

Workaround

Two workarounds are possible:

1. Remove the instrument from the system.

2. Remove the instrument from the DHCP configuration window.

3. Remove the instrument from the instrument list.

4. Reconfigure the instrument in the DHCP configuration window.

5. Add the instrument to the system. You do not need to reboot the LAC/E or G1888.

OR

Disable the DHCP Client service in Windows. This causes the G1888 to be recognized every time the instrument is turned off and on. The DHCP Client service can remain disabled if you are using fixed IP addresses.
