OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Configure an Agilent LC-CE or -GC from Empower client or Citrix server.

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower Enterprise
• Agilent Instrument Control Framework (ICF)
• CTC PAL Autosampler
• Agilent 1260 Infinity
• Agilent 7890 GC
• Agilent 7697A Headspace
• Agilent 6890 GC
• Agilent 6850 GC
• Agilent 8697 Headspace
• Agilent 8890 GC

PROCEDURE

1. Navigate to Empower > Configuration Manger > Tools > Agilent Pre-Configuration.
2. Type the Hostname or the IP address of the LAC/E on the network (not the IP address of the instrument).
3. Select New.
4. Select Configure.
5. Specify the IP address of the instrument.
6. Configure as normal, as noted in the release notes..

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

[CRI-2956] With ICF Support Layer 3.5 to 3.6.1, you may not be able to configure the instruments from the client.
Note: Using ICF Support Layer 3.7, you can configure the instruments from the client. When ICF Support Layer 3.7 is installed on a client and ICF Support Layer 3.5, 3.5.1, 3.6, or 3.6.1 is installed on the LAC/E device, if you want to configure the instruments from a client, ensure that the firewall is disabled or that an exception is added to allow all programs to access port 58080.
