With Empower 3 and e-SAT/IN, when starting a sample set, baseline acquisition starts immediately without waiting for injection - WKB247290

SYMPTOMS

• When starting a sample set in Empower, baseline acquisition starts immediately, without waiting for injection
• Normally, the process is start sample set in Empower → Start run on third-party LC → Acquisition starts when a start signal is received

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3
• e-SAT/IN
• Third-party LC connection

CAUSE

Empower issue / e-SAT/IN issue / Start signal issue / Issue on HPLC side

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Disconnect the start signal cable on both e-SAT/IN side and HPLC side, start run, and check if Waiting for Injection shows.
   If Waiting for Injection shows, there is no problem with Empower.
2. Reconnect the start signal cable on the e-SAT/IN side, wait until Waiting for Injection shows, and then bring the metal part of the start signal into contact on the HPLC side to see whether the acquisition starts.
   If acquisition starts, it can basically be considered that there are no problems with the e-SAT/IN or the start signal.It might be a problem on the HPLC side.
