Why do we do both a manual flow rate accuracy test and a flow rate linearity test during SQT? - WKB240912

Article number: 240912

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower
  • SQT

ANSWER

Flow rate linearity and accuracy are required operational qualification tests for the solvent manager. Because SQT uses a column, the full range of the pump cannot be tested chromatographically without the system going over pressure. That’s why we include the 5 mL/min or 2 mL/min (depending on the system) manual flow rate test for the high end of the solvent manager. We include the 0.5 mL/min manual test to be within the linearity range. Also, two manual flow rate tests would not show linearity, we need to do three to create a curve.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

It is correct that the system has been tested in the range based on the flow rate linearity and accuracy tests.
