How can I verify that a LAC/E32 was rebooted remotely from Empower? - WKB23405

Article number: 23405

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower Workgroup
  • Empower Enterprise

ANSWER

1. Review the Empower System Audit trail. LAC/E32 reboots have an entry noting "Reboot Acquisition Server" in th Action field and "Reboot request for node xxxxxxxx successfully made" in the Details field.

2. Review the System event log on the LAC/E32. There will be an event with the Source USER32. The General tab will indicate The process C:\Empower\Bin\WatersService.exe [nodename] has initiated the restart of computer [nodename] on behalf of user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM for the following reason: Legacy API shutdown
 Reason Code: 0x80070000
 Shutdown Type: restart
