Serial port command error when using Agilent GC 6890N and Headspace 7694 in Empower - WKB22948

SYMPTOMS

• When run is started it stops, giving error message: HS7694@3 checksum error found in response to string HHSc0005A10- serial port command error
  stuck at Vial 7
• Headspace communication okay
• Baud rate settings in 6890 are set up correctly
• Reboots of Headspace and GC do not resolve the issue
• Setup error can also cause instrument failure

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 Feature Release 4
• Headspace 7694
• Agilent GC 6890N
• Edgeport 

CAUSE

Corrupted method or methods

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Create new methods (instrument method and sample set method) in Empower.
2. Rerun.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• The 7694 is connected via RS232-to-USB adapter directly to LAC/E.
• The 6890N is connected via Edgeport (USB to serial converter)
