SYMPTOMS

• Empower timestamps may show a timezone offset instead of the expected timezone abbreviation
• Prior to Empower 3 FR5, the timestamp displays as follows:

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 FR5 and later
• Empower 3.6.x and later

CAUSE

Changes made by Oracle in the Oracle timezone files have removed various timezone abbreviations. As a result, Empower displays the timezone offset instead of the timezone abbreviation for affected timezones.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Set Empower System Policies to "Show Region Name" instead of "Show Region Abbreviation".
